چکیده
Abstract This article investigates whether blockchain technology corresponds to Schumpeter Mark 1 or 2 industrial dynamics. Using an original database of 385 job offers in three different domains, namely, blockchain, biotechnology, and storekeeping, posted by 285 companies France Germany early 2019, we explore the usual attributes apply blockchains. We use ordered multinomial probit models explain level work experience demanded companies. To our knowledge, this contribution is one among very few attempts identify main features

An Empirical Analysis of Linkability in the Monero Blockchain
Monero is a privacy-centric cryptocurrency that allows users to obscure their transactions by including chaff coins, called “mixins,” along with the actual coins they spend. In this paper, we empirically evaluate two weaknesses in Monero’s mixin sampling strategy. First, about 62% of transaction inputs with one or more mixins are vulnerable to “chain-reaction” analysis — that is, the real input...
متن کاملBitcoin: Bubble or Blockchain
This paper sets out a brief, deliberately non-technical, overview of Bitcoin, a new, but becoming more mainstream, crypto currency, generated and managed by a distributed multi–agent system. Bitcoin was developed in late 2008 by “Satoshi Nakamoto”. The nature of Bitcoin as a disruptive currency, payments system and asset, is juxtaposed against the potential for its transactional ledger, the blo...
متن کاملAn Analysis of Attacks on Blockchain Consensus
We present and validate a novel mathematical model of the blockchain mining process and use it to conduct an economic evaluation of the double-spend attack, which is fundamental to all blockchain systems. Our analysis focuses on the value of transactions that can be secured under a conventional double-spend attack, both with and without a concurrent eclipse attack. We account for an attacker ca...
متن کاملBlockchain Revolution without the Blockchain
The technology behind blockchain has attracted a lot of attention. However, this technology is for the most part not well understood. There is no consensus on what benefits it may bring or on how it may fail. A careful look into the technology finds that most of the proposed benefits of so called blockchain technologies do not really come from elements unique to blockchain. Instead, they come f...
متن کاملBlockchain
Blockchain technology and distributed ledgers are attracting massive attention and trigger multiple projects in different industries. However, the financial industry is seen as a primary user of the blockchain concept. This is not only due to the fact that the most well-known application of this technology is the crypto-currency Bitcoin, but it is also driven by substantial process inefficienci...
